Another warm/dry stretch in western Washington led to an expanding perimeter of the Bolt Creek fire near Skykomish. The fire has crept up on hwy 2 resulting in a 4-mile stretch being closed in both directions from Baring to Skykomish. According to an InciWeb update this morning, the Bolt Creek fire is currently at 11K acres.
To help put the size of this fire into perspective, I moved the fire perimeter into the Seattle area. That 11K acres would cover Issaquah, Cougar & Squak Mountains, into Newcastle and Factoria.
