Overview

This somewhat bland-looking mushroom has a few characteristics that help to elevate it above the typical little brown mushroom (LBM). It is common in the spring and found in a wide variety of habitats. With sun exposure it can develop deep cracks. It also has a robust partial veil that can be seen in young specimens, or through remnants left on the cap edge or stem.
