Guided Mushroom Tour

$75.00After the recent rain I think there could be boletes starting to show up in the area. The road is a typical forest service road with some sections that might require a little extra clearance, and/or familiarity with driving on gravel forest service roads. If you are unsure if your vehicle would be suitable, please ask and we might be able to arrange a carpool from the meeting spot. *** This trip is weather dependent and meeting a minimum reservation. I will confirm if we are going ahead with the tour 2 days prior (Saturday) ***
What to Bring
- Footwear: Suitable for off-trail walking
- Attire: Weather appropriate (sun/rain/temperature)
- Navigation/Communication: Charged phone with offline maps (ask if needed)
- A basket or breathable bag for collecting
- Water and snacks
- Also Consider:
- A small folding knife
- Hiking pole (they can be easy to lose while foraging)
Weather Policy: Tours run rain or shine in typical Pacific Northwest weather. Events may be canceled if unsafe conditions are forecast, and the tour will be rescheduled or refunded in full.
Exact Meetup Location: Provided to registered participants 24–48 hours before the tour. General area is Greenwater Area.
Road Conditions: Forest service roads are passable in low-clearance vehicles, but expect potholes and the occasional rock — just pick your line carefully.
Age & Fitness: Suitable for teens and adults comfortable with off-trail walking. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Common Questions
Is this suitable for complete beginners?
Absolutely. No foraging experience is needed — tours are designed to work for total beginners and experienced foragers alike. We start with the basics and build from there.
Are you guaranteed to find mushrooms?
Foraging is a real outdoor experience, not a staged event — conditions vary and nature doesn’t guarantee finds. That said, we know where to look and the skills you’ll gain are yours to keep regardless of what we find. Most tours produce a good haul in season.
What is the cancellation policy?
Tours run rain or shine in normal PNW conditions. If we need to cancel due to unsafe weather or low enrollment, you’ll receive a full refund or credit toward a future tour. Please contact us at least 48 hours in advance if you need to cancel your booking.
Can I keep what we find?
Yes. Please get a positive ID from an expert before eating anything. Either confirm with your guide or email/txt photos to Jeremy.
