Washington Trees
Finding mushrooms in the Pacific Northwest is much easier when you know what habitat to find specific mushrooms. For instance, the pacific golden chanterelle can be found with Douglas fir and western hemlock. It isn’t too hard to learn the most common trees in the Pacific Northwest, or even where to find them.
I made a new trees section where you can learn more about the native Washington and Oregon trees. As I continue to work on these pages I will include some of the most common mushrooms found with each of them. Start by reviewing Douglas fir for a list of key features, and associated mushrooms.
